Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
We confess we desire many things under the sun besides You. We confess though we have eyes, we do not see Your Kingdom. We have legs but we do not walk the path of righteousness. We have able bodies, but we are paralyzed to serve You.
Forgive our feeble attempts to save ourselves. Forgive us for turning created things into ultimate things. Forgive us for being obsessed with our needs rather than Your priorities. Forgive us for worshipping silver and gold, the work of human hands.
Oh God, let our minds be renewed. Heal us from our spiritual blindness, lameness, and paralysis. Let us respond to Your grace and mercy with gratitude. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
