Father,
We are grateful for the many promises of blessing in Your word. Indeed, it is Your word that has sustained us on a daily basis. By Your grace and mercy, we have enjoyed the flourishing You brought into our lives. Yet we are so quick to forget the Giver and instead focus on the gifts.
Lord, we are thankful for our family. You have purposed for us to bring flourishing to our parents, spouses and children but we have neglected our responsibilities to pray, protect and provide for them in a way that brings You the greatest glory. We confess that our hearts are prideful, our souls are carnal and our strength is fleeting.
Father, forgive us! Help us to fix our eyes on Jesus who is the author and perfecter of our faith. Holy Spirit, come and empower us to walk in the fear of the Lord and to choose to follow Your ways.
