Father,
You deserve to be the object of our worship. You have commanded us to love You with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our might.
Instead of You, we love the world with all our heart, soul and might. We are quite willing to forsake You to pursue what the world has to offer. Against You and only You have we sinned.
Forgive us for our idolatrous hearts. Forgive us for rebelling against You. Forgive us for sweeping our guilt under the carpet rather than obeying when the Holy Spirit convicts us. Forgive us for acting as if we are above Your law.
Have mercy on us, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquity, and cleanse us from our sin. In the precious name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
