Father,
Christ is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature, and He upholds the universe by the word of His power. He alone deserves the highest honour, praise and glory.
Why is it that we are so easily distracted by lesser things? Why is it that we welcome You into our house, but are too busy for You? Why is it that we are anxious and troubled by many things but not by what troubles You?
Forgive us for not abiding in You when Your word tells us clearly that apart from You, we can do nothing. Forgive us for being taken captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition or the elemental spirits of the world but not according to Christ.
Help us choose the good portion by sitting at the feet of Jesus. Fill us with the perfect wisdom from above. Give us the living water of Christ to quench our thirst. In His most precious name, we pray. Amen.
