Father,
In this broken world, which is surrounded with evil and wickedness, we rejoice that You are holy. In You, goodness and mercy follow us all the days of our lives.
We confess that holiness has not always been our priority. We struggle to deny ourselves and carry the cross. We are more inclined to be conformed to this world rather than being transformed by the renewal of our minds. Instead of fearing You, we succumb to the fear of man.
Forgive us for tarnishing Your holiness through our vindictiveness, pettiness, and self-righteousness. Forgive us when we dance with idols while worshipping You with our lips. Forgive us for submitting to the yoke of slavery when Christ has set us free.
O God, help us consecrate ourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. Fill us with the surpassing joy that those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with our passions and desires. In His precious name we pray. Amen.
