Father,
You are righteous in all Your ways and kind in all Your works. You give peace to those who serve You and obey Your commandments.
But we think our ways are higher than Your ways. When times are good, instead of drawing near to You, we become complacent. We forget that every good and perfect gift comes from You.
Forgive us for minimizing the importance of obedience. Forgive us for doing what is evil in Your sight. Forgive us for rebelling against You.
Forgive us for complaining when You chasten us. Forgive us for thinking the problem is with others or even with You. Forgive us for being slow to repent before You.
Hear our cries and have mercy on us O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to Your abundant mercy. Wash us thoroughly from our iniquities and cleanse us from our sin. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
