What is the significance of God giving Jesus a foretaste of the cup of wrath?
When Jesus went to the cross, the horror that he experienced was not a surprise to Him. He had a foretaste of the cup of wrath before He drank it. He had been shown He would drink the cup for utterly useless disciples who could not stay awake while He prayed. The disciples were his inner circle. We follow Him on the final visit to this garden. Jesus and 3 of His closest disciples, Peter, John and James, went to this garden to pray before Jesus was crucified on the Cross on our behalf.
