Heavenly Father,
We confess that our hearts tend to cry out for deliverance from hardships, far more than the forgiveness of our sins.
We seek comfort instead of the deep transformation You desire. Thus, we choose our own pleasure over pleasing You.
Forgive us for our selfishness, Lord. When it was our sin that led Your Son to the cross. Where He bore the punishment we deserved. He endured the greatest hardship for us all.
Holy Spirit, help us remember Jesus who gave it all for us. Make our hearts pleasing to You like Him. Give us a broken and contrite spirit. May we repent daily and take refuge in Your grace.
We ask You in Your name, in Jesus name. Amen.
