Father, You said it is not good that man should be alone. So You gave mankind the gift of marriage. By Your design, a man shall hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Why is it that we often do not experience oneness between husbands and wives? Why are some of our marriages filled with more bitterness, tears and disappointments rather than love, joy and hope?
We confess that we have often made our marriages about us rather than about You. We fight for things that matter in the kingdom of self rather than the Kingdom of God.
Make us Your humble servants so our words and deeds will communicate love and truth. By Your mercies, help us present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
