Father,
We give You thanks that You have not left us in this broken world to fend for ourselves. By Your mercy and grace, You gave us shalom so we can dwell in peace with ourselves, with others and most importantly, with You.
We confess that we have not always cared about shalom in our communities. We have often turned a blind eye to the plight of the most vulnerable people in our midst.
Forgive us for brushing aside the responsibility of being Your agents of restoration. Forgive us for procrastinating from the burdens You have placed in our hearts long ago. Forgive us for giving up before even trying because we think the work is too hard.
Help us to place our faith in You. Use us to bring hope to broken, bruised and wounded communities. Ignite in our hearts a new fire to move us in unstoppable compassion for Your glory. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
