Father,
You have given us Your love to bind us in deep, inseparable fellowship to enjoy love and peace with each other and with You.
But how often have we damaged relationships because of our selfish ambitions? Why do we live as if the world revolves around us? Why do we see the speck in other people’s eyes, but do not notice the log in our own eyes?
Forgive us for allowing our passions to be at war and to cause fights and quarrels with people we ought to love. Forgive us for conveniently sweeping our wrongdoings under the rug. Forgive us for demanding retribution when our sins have been fully paid by Jesus.
Would You purify our hearts, Lord. Show us the wrongdoings You want us to confess. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Empower us for the ministry of reconciliation. May many hearts be refreshed in Christ. In His name we pray. Amen.
