Father, it pleases You when we dwell together in unity. Jesus prayed that we, Your people, might be one – just as You and Your Son are one.
Yet forgive us where we have brought cultural divisions into Your church. Forgive us for when we have abandoned unity in the faith over such differences.
Forgive us for when we harboured resentment and unforgiveness. Forgive us for when we allowed self-righteousness to fester. Forgive us for not always being peacemakers.
We look to Your grace, to both forgive and transform. Fill us with Your Spirit, so that we might have fresh power and love. We ask all this in Jesus’ name, amen.
