Father,
You have created us to do life with friends. You said it is not good that Adam was alone. You created for him a companion.
Lord, forgive us for taking our friends for granted. Too many times, we are blind to how we have hurt them. Give us courage and humility to ask for forgiveness – from our friends and from you.
Lord, forgive us for being passive in our friendship. Forgive us for trying to make friends with our own righteousness rather than resting in the righteousness of Christ.
Help us to be better friends. Help us to be willing to pick up the Cross for our friends. Most of all, help us to rejoice that Jesus considers us as His friends. In His mighty name we pray. Amen.
