Heavenly Father, we confess how disordered our love is.
Too often, we choose our sinful ways over walking in wholehearted love. We are more likely to lust than to love, more likely to stray than to be faithful.
Why do we love so poorly when we know You have loved us so dearly – even giving Your Son as a ransom for us?
In Christ, we have been given a love that nothing can separate. Lord, forgive us for not loving You as we should. Forgive us also for choosing our selfish passions to justify withholding our love from others.
Lord, remind us of Your grace once again, that we may walk according to Your love for us. Renew our hearts afresh and help us to be more like Christ. We pray all this in Jesus’ name, amen.
