Our Father in heaven, You are worthy of our continued, fervent, and lasting prayers. Yet we confess how inconsistent our prayers have often been.
We confess that our prayers have too often been temporal, reactive prayers for daily bread. We pray primarily out of our needs, and not out of Your vision and promises.
Too few of our prayers are for the nations to turn to You! For the restoration of peace, justice, unity, and compassion among men!
Too few times have we cried out, “Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus, come!” Forgive us, Father. Forgive us for our unbelief. Forgive us for our self-centeredness.
Forgive us for making light of the hope and the future that we have in Christ Jesus. We pray all this in His name, amen.
