Father, You are a God of justice. Your desire is to see justice among Your people, and justice upon the earth. As You love justice, we too should love justice.
But forgive us for seeing justice as ‘political’, and as ‘unimportant’ to our Christian life. Forgive us for the times we have been cold and unfeeling towards matters of injustice.
Forgive us also for seeking justice apart from You. Forgive us for the times we have placed our hope for justice, in the systems, structures, and people of this world.
Draw us close to You. Help us sense how Your heart beats for the poor, the marginalised, and the downtrodden. And by Your Spirit, cause our hearts to beat the same.
We ask all this in Jesus’s name, amen.
